[evaal contest] Short paper camera-ready & copyright release

Hello Rafael and Joaquin,

Thank you Rafael for being our “test case”. I am sorry that we didn’t check all of these options with a test paper earlier. The EDAS system has far too many switches and options in the back end. I thought I had configured this correctly for the IPIN Paper and Short Paper Tracks, however it looks like the headers were set to not allowed in the 2 of the three Evaal tracks. I’ve changed this to allow the headers.

I went to http://www.ucalgary.ca/ipin2015/call-papers/author-instructions and followed to instructions to "add a copyright clearance code notice as a footnote on the bottom left of the first page", and "add the conference header to each page of your paper". However, I now receive the error "The PDF file cannot be accepted: Headers are not allowed for final manuscripts."

Do we need to add the footnote, but not the header, or is something else amiss? I have included the short paper, so that you can take a look at the current layout.

About the long paper, the idea is to extend the short paper with a better description of the proposed system and include the results of the competition. Although I consider that you can re-use material from the short paper, new material has to be included to fill the gap between a short paper (4 pages) and a long paper (10 pages).

@Kyle & Francesco: Please let me know if I am wrong about the extended long paper.

"After the competition, competitors are invited to submit a full paper
about their system, which expands on their short paper with more

I have another question which may interest all the mailing list: is the full paper regarded as an extension of the short paper, in the sense that we can reuse material from the short paper in the full paper?

Rafael, thanks for signaling.  After yours, I also got notice of other
competitors having a similar problem.

We are looking into this and will notify the outcome on the list as
soon as we solve it.
