Dear all,

This message is addressed to all Track 3 participants. Please read the
following information carefully, as it contains important details regarding
the scoring trials, registration, server selection, and awards.
1. Scoring Trials

All teams must be ready on *Tuesday, September 29, at 9:00 AM CEST (GMT+2)*
for the first scoring trial.

We will allow *5 minutes* for teams to start the trial. Delays beyond this
5-minute window may result in the scoring trial being disqualified for the
team.

The starting time of the second trial will be announced in due time after
the first trial is finished, with at least ten minutes of advance time.

The scoring trial names will be sent to the teams in the coming days.
Before we can provide them, please send us *proof of registration*.
2. Registration

Please remember that a *Full Conference Registration* includes
participation in *one competition track*. This option may be convenient if
you are already planning to attend the conference in Rome.

If you are *not attending the conference in Rome*, you can register using
the *“IPIN Competition Pre-Congress Fees (ONLINE)”* option.

If your team is participating in *multiple tracks*, you may need to
register for the *“Additional Competition Track”*, particularly if only one
team member is registered for the competition.

If you are unsure which registration option applies to your team, please do
not hesitate to contact us.
3. Competition Servers

Please let us know *which server you would like to use to run your
algorithm*. We currently have two servers available:

   -

   *Europe (Italy):* https://evaal.aaloa.org/evaalapi/
   <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://evaal.aaloa.org/evaalapi/__;!!D9dNQwwGXtA!UfN-89oPUkOVwY9WhVRClFhyYCm-laf9WRnbxh9isOy-oG7wqdxmBcvE3BohwcmffiieV6WI59E9LmhIBilbYfpBNExbs1gP$>

   -

   *Asia (Hong Kong):*http://120.77.98.217/evaalapi/
   <https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://120.77.98.217/evaalapi/__;!!D9dNQwwGXtA!UfN-89oPUkOVwY9WhVRClFhyYCm-laf9WRnbxh9isOy-oG7wqdxmBcvE3BohwcmffiieV6WI59E9LmhIBilbYfpBNBqqif5e$>
   (take care, no typo, it is really http, and not https)

We strongly recommend that all teams *test their algorithm and network
performance using the EvAAL API on the competition server* they intend to
use. This testing should be completed *by September 24*.
4. Awards DistributionTo be announced soon5. Ranking

According to the EvAAL framework, ranking is performed using *“Realistic
measurement resolution”* (Point 3 of the EvAAL framwork at
https://competition.ipin-conference.org/current-competition/the-evaal-framework
<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://competition.ipin-conference.org/current-competition/the-evaal-framework__;!!D9dNQwwGXtA!UfN-89oPUkOVwY9WhVRClFhyYCm-laf9WRnbxh9isOy-oG7wqdxmBcvE3BohwcmffiieV6WI59E9LmhIBilbYfpBNPb_5oYn$>
).

The primary ranking metric is the *Accuracy Score*, defined as the *third
quartile (75th percentile) of the SampleError*.

A difference in Accuracy Score smaller than a predefined threshold is
considered *not significant*. In such cases, the *90th percentile of the *
*SampleError* will be used as a tie-breaker.

The Score difference thresholds are:

   -

   *50 cm* for Tracks 1, 3, 4, and 6, which involve estimating the position
   of a person.
   -

   *10 cm* for Track 7.

The algorithm for ranking is provided at:
https://competition.ipin-conference.org/current-competition/the-evaal-framework
<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://competition.ipin-conference.org/current-competition/the-evaal-framework__;!!D9dNQwwGXtA!UfN-89oPUkOVwY9WhVRClFhyYCm-laf9WRnbxh9isOy-oG7wqdxmBcvE3BohwcmffiieV6WI59E9LmhIBilbYfpBNPb_5oYn$>
6. Track 3 Award Eligibility and Score Publication

For *Track 3*, teams with a *Score above 15 m are not eligible for an award*
.

Furthermore, Accuracy Scores exceeding *three times this threshold (45 m)*
will *not be published on the competition website*.
