Valencia Airport has been considerably developed over the last years. Since 1995 the number of passengers more than doubled. In 2005, more than 4.5 million people flew through Valencia Airport. This is especially because of the arrival of budget airlines such as EasyJet. Also, the fact that Costa Blanca, south of Valencia, is increasingly more, a popular location for a second house.

The airport is eight kilometers west of Valencia.

Local transport 

Train

Valencia Airport has no train connection. Valencia Airport has an excellent metro connection that offers a frequent timetable to the center of Valencia.

Car and bus

You leave the airport via the N220 that leads to highway A3 (Madrid-Valencia) and highway A7, the A7 is the coast road to the south, Alicante.

For bus transportation (tel: +34(0)963 160 707) to Valencia you have the choice of two lines. The Aero-Bus takes you directly to the center of Valencia. Between 06:00 and 22:00 buses leave every 20 minutes and it costs €2.50. Local bus line 150 also connects the airport with Valencia, but this line stops at many more places and it costs €1.05, the last bus leaves at 23:15.

Car rental - Valencia Airport

On the ground floor of the Arrivals Hall there are five car rental companies represented: Avis, Centauro, Europa Rent-a-Car, Europcar and Hertz. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerraprovides, they compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.

Taxi

Taxis are in front of the exit of the Arrivals Hall. The price is dependent on the time, but costs €0.73-€0.93 per kilometer, there is an airport surcharge of €2.75. A ride to Valencia costs approximately €15.00. You can call a taxi (tel: +34(0)963 703 333).

Airport Parking

The most important parking area P1, right in front of the terminal building, is closed at the moment because work is being done on the construction of a covered parking garage. P4 (tel: +34(0) 961 598 547) is now the designated parking area, it is easier to access this area from CV-370 that goes between Manises and Ribarroja. There is a shuttle bus to the terminal. Rates: for the first half hour €0.50, second half hour €0.70 then €1.20 per hour or €12.00 per day.

There are no hotels at the airport. The nearest options are the NH Jardines del Turia (tel: +34(0)963 905 460), Husa Mas Camarena (tel: +34(0) 963 110 950) and Posadas de España Paterna (tel: (+34(0)961 366 121). The last two are in the Parque Tecnológico in Valencia. For more hotels and to reserve online you can go to Booking.com, they have a large range of hotels with great internet rates.

Baggage

You can report misplaced baggage at the counter for Iberhandling (tel: +34(0) 961 598 683) in the Arrivals Hall. You cannot store baggage at Valencia Airport.

There are general information counters in the Arrivals Hall and Departures Hall (tel: +34(0)961 598 500). The Tourism Bureau (tel: +34(0) 961 530 229) can be found in the Arrivals Hall..

Other services

On the first level of the Departures Hall you can find a money exchange office from the Exchange Corporation Spain (tel: +34(0)961 598 692), there are also ATM's. On the second level there is a silence center.

B)  Valencia Railway Stations

Valencia possesses two train stations, near between them, , the station Valencia Joaquín Sorolla and the station Valencia Nord. The station Valencia Joaquín Sorolla realizes the following distances of long distance: Madrid, Barcelona, Alicante, Castellón and Albacete. The station Valencia Nord attends to other distances of long distance, and those of half a distance and surroundings.

 Connection between both stations

 The distance between both stations can be realized afoot in 10 minutes or in an exclusive autobus of free Renfe by means of the presentation of the ticket of train.

From the station Joaquín Sorolla, the trains AVE join the city with Madrid, Cuenca and Albacete, with a frequency of 15 daily trains and with an approximate duration of distance of 1 hour and 30 min. The AVE Madrid – Valencia, stops in the city of Cuenca and in Requena - Utiel. The ALVIA or EUROMED realize stops in the cities of Albacete, Xátiva, Sagunto, Oropesa and Tarragona according to the distance that treats itself.

There are two stations of meter placed near the station Valencia Joaquín Sorolla: Bailén (line 5) and Joaquín Sorolla/Jesús (lines 1 and 5). Close to the station València Nord is the station Xàtiva (lines 3 and 5). For any of them it can move to the principal places of Valencia, included the port, the airport, the bus station, the Conference hall, the Fair of Valencia and several municipalities of the province.

The Station Valencia Joaquín Sorolla is connected by the following lines of urban buses (EMT): Lines 9, 10, 27 (San Vicente's stop Martyr) and lines 89 and 90 (stop of the Av. Giorgeta).

 Also there exists a stop of taxis placed together with the door of the station.

Rent of Cars: The station gives the service of rent of cars and in here  there are the principal companies of rent of vehicles as Avis, Atesa, Europcar, etc. The place to withdraw the vehicles is close to the parking.  Station of Trains València Nord

Address: 24, Xativa Street. 46007 Valencia.

Public transport: To acces to the Station you can take the tube, lines 3 or 5 and descend in the stop Xativa. Close to the station is the stop Xàtiva (lines 3 and 5) and in Bailén's street there is the stop Bailén (line 5).

Also  the Station is connected by the following lines of urban buses (EMT): Lines 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 14, 19, 35, 40 and 63.

 Also there exists a stop of taxis placed in the wings of the station, going out of this one for the doors that are close to the route 6.

 The connection with the Airport of Valencia is realized by underground, from the stop  of Xátiva the line 3 comes directly to the Airport (placed to approximately 12 km from the Station). The Port of Valencia is

 6 km from the Station. The urban Bus n º 19 is the most nearby. Line 3 of tube from Xátiva's stop of the line 3 up to Maritim-Serreria. From this one there is link up to the port or it is possible to be walking.
