Previous editions: the EvAAL and the IPIN competitions

EvAAL 2011 was the first edition of EvAAL, organised by the universAAL project. It featured a single track on indoor localization and tracking for AAL, which was hosted by the CIAMI living lab. The final workshop was held at the AAL Forum.

EvAAL 2012 kept the same organisation, and added a second track on activity recognition for AAL. The localization competition was held at the Smart House living lab, while the activity recognition one was hosted by the CIAMI living lab.

EvAAL 2013 consolidated the previous year tracks and added a demo on companion robots for AAL. The localization competition was held at the Smart House living lab, while the activity recognition one was hosted by the CIAMI living lab, and the companion robots was performed at the Peccioli living lab. The final workshop and prize ceremony took place as usual at the AAL Forum.

Since 2014 the international IPIN conference on Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation has hosted a competition based on the EvAAL framework, which in 2015 was called EvAAL-ETRI competition and is now officially called the IPIN competition.
