Dear Competitors,
We started at 7:00 UTC with the first trial of Track 3, which was followed
by the second trial starting at 10:30 UTC. After some checks, we now
declare that Track 3 is officially closed.
A total of 6 teams have worked hard to participate in the competition and
provide accurate positioning within the museum. All the competitors have
been ready and completed, at least, one of the evaluation trials. Overall,
the competition went smoothly. My sincere thanks to all the competitors for
their invaluable efforts. You are making Track 3 appealing to
other research teams. I hope you all learned a bit from the experience and
enjoyed participating in the competition. Eager to see you in 2025,
competition will be tighter!
On the other side, Francesco and Miguel have been all day in front of the
screen to deal with the technical part of the EvAALAPI. Toni Perez and
Antonio Jiménez supported the application used to collect data and all the
data collection protocols. Maximilian was not only our contact point in
Nuremberg, but also one of the actors who carried the smartphone and
collected data for this track. Nino and Filippo, chairs of the Track 1,
were supportive when mapping the museum. I have been only the visible face,
all the merit is for the competitors and the team behind the IPIN
competition for their support.
Ahh.... sorry.... There is one more thing... the results...
The results will be published on Thursday 17th October. We will send the
individual detailed reports soon. As usual, all the materials will be
publicly available on the Website, Zenodo and/or IEEE DataPort after the
conference.
Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us!
Best regards,
Ximo
