The system uses pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR) for basic navigation, coupled with a zero-velocity update (ZUPT) algorithm to correct the inevitable errors accumulated over time due to IMU drift. Further, we employ a barometric sensor for altitude estimation, facilitating the tracking of users across multiple floors. Lastly, we integrate a Kalman filter to fuse data from different sensors, thereby improving overall positioning accuracy and robustness.
